Prarthana, Age 11, Cary, NC
Burning, blazing
I thought it would never go.
Tearing, aching,
it bled right through my soul.
I didn't shed a tear
but inside I was cracking.
Piece by piece,
I was shattering
like glass.

I got tried of
Lying, hoping
Now I can't even trust myself
Saying that we would never part
I wish those words
Never formed in your mouth
I wish that you
Could take them back

Trusting, listening
To the lies
I'll never hear again
My faith has broken
And I'm crying 'cause I want it fixed.
