Water
Neha, Age 12, Phoenix, AZ

Dancing around us,
Taunting us.
Minuscule bumps
Turn to rocks.
Water
Going fast.
Swish, splash.
The taste of blood,
From biting my lip
One time
Too many.
Water
Singing its hoarse, crackly song.
Mingled are the scents
Of pine and fish.
Water
Cold yet refreshing
My hands skim it,
Attempting to grasp
The ever-flowing
Water.
