Raging Rose
Serena, Age 14, Fall River, NS

True love is fair and beautiful,
But a creature rages within.
With the rage she turns
In a cage she burns,
Like the beauty of a rose in a fire.

Her eyes light up like stars,
With saving grace from afar;
But it was just a mirage,
A dream that was lost,
And now she's lost and alone.

A creature of rage will surge,
But that's not really her.
It's her guard against pain
And when the creature is slain,
A beautiful rose will emerge.
