Snow Day
Amiya, Age 10, Plymouth, MI
                      Sharp Chin Hawks floating above
Answering the call of the Morning Dove
Bits of frost nip my hand
Biting away nature's band
Last blooms of the New England Frostier
Going away faster and faster
Little song birds here no more
Tiny wings always sore
Jumpy squirrels seeking shelter
Gathered around in all that warm fur
Migrating Wood Ducks going north
All this going on in one month
But today's special
Because itís a Snow Day!
