The ANZAC War
Carol, Age 12, Perth, WA
I am war.
I am the battle trenches of the World War I.
I am the invading armies of the World War II.
I was there when millions of Anzacs and Turks died in Gallipoli.
I have made rivers of blood,
Mountains of bones,
And oceans of tears.
Yet I shall not retire.
I am always lurking, a formidable shadow, in the minds of people.
My cause is not about justice.
I do not discriminate between soldiers and civilians.
I do not worry about shattered lives of survivors.
I do not care about your sorrow.
I have no heart.
This is what war is all about!
