Flood of Memories
Jaycee, Age 13, Doylestown, PA
                      Squeaky, old dusty metal bed
Adirondack tent, wood, canvas, open
Sweet and friendly
Apprehensive as a mother leaving her baby for the first time
Blistering heat and golden sunshine
Stuffed belongings; rolled out our red, green, and blue sleeping bags
Posed, watching, waiting, and wondering
Fierce bolt of lightning with its side-kick thunder trailing close behind
Flood of memories wash over me like a wave crashing down on the sandy beach
Bear, fluffy with a fishy stench, or a smelly, greasy raccoon
Loyal, humorous, and loving friends
Bumpy, golden, buff-dirt road
Tarnished, rusted, wooden sign hanging high above.
