My Enslavement to Bullying
Hannah, Age 11, Sellersville, PA
I want to be
I want to do what's right;
but how can help be on my mind
when I'm thinking — fight or flight?
Every day I'm bullied —
tormented in my mind.
I see my bully every day,
and she's anything but kind.
I see her glares from the classroom
when she's walking in the hall,
but when I feel sick because I'm really scared
I have my friends on call.
The others just don't get it —
they just don't understand
that when we stand up against a bully
we all get a helping hand.
I guess what I don't get
is how the others walk away
when we could be free — right then, right now!
— instead of being enslaved today.
