Perspective of a Half Moon
Kellie, Age 13, London, UK
I am the crescent moon child.
Some may laugh.
You will.

Laugh the sea and the hills and the sun away,
But my tongue speaks truth only.
See, I was born with the stars,
In a shrouded blue snow globe called Earth.
Raised in a world of nature's blessing,
And I embraced it with warm open arms.

Breathed with the flowers as they bloomed their shoots,
Danced in the breeze as they wilted,
played with the fox cubs in everyone's garden,
And as rabbits we chased one another,
As I helped burrow for velvet bed.

Lived with life.
Life with lived.
With lived life.
Life lived with.
Lived life with.
With life lived.

I kissed the badgers,
Felt the air caress my face,
Wind wildly thrashing hair.

I understand the song of birds,
Sing with their melodious chirps,
What beautiful trilling music.

As each season comes
I embrace it with my moonlight;
Feel the harsh, bitterness winter brings,
Appreciate the hardships and the good days.

Some may laugh.
You will.
Laugh the sea and the hills and the sun away,
But my tongue speaks truth only.
For I am the crescent moon child.
