Chapter 1 - The Broken Window

SMASH!!! “Oh no, Mom is going to kill me! I broke the window into pieces.”

“Bobby, come make your bed!”

“Oh no, I mean, okay Mommy, one second,” Bobby muttered when going up stairs.

“Ruff ruff!” Lucky pulled Bobby back down.

“Bobby what is...Honey, what happened to the window? You’re grounded for one week.”

“But, but...”

“No buts!”

“(Sigh) Okay.” Bobby ran upstairs crying. “Mom, my friends and I are going to the movies.”

“No!”

“Wow, what is wrong with you?”

“RUFF RUFF!!”

“I’m home from work,” said Rob. “I got movie tickets; let's go.”

“Okay. We'll hop in the car.”

“What car are we taking?”

“The green one.”

“Okay.”

“100 bottles of beer on the wall. 100 bottles of beer! Drink one up, pass it around, 99 bottles of beer on the wall! 99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer. Drink one up, pass it around 98 bottles of beer...”

Chapter 2 - At the Movies

“Well, we are here. Get out of the car, kids,” Rob said in an exited voice!

“Daddy?”

“Yes?”

“Umm, nothing.”

“Okay, then let's go.”

“I’m glad this movie theater allows dogs. Come on, Lucky.”

At the movies, they had the best time. After, they went outside...

“OUR CAR!!! Where is it? It is gone. Well we have three cars, so now we have two left. Let's walk.”

“Okay. Lets’ go inside; it's getting late.”

“Ahh, I thought we left the house unlocked. We never lock it.”

Bobby says, “Yay, we can camp.”

“Well, only this one night. I guess so.”

During the night, Lucky got bored and wandered off. She did not mean to go too far out, but she accidentally did. “Ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff!” She wanted to get back to her family. “Ruff, ruff!”

Bobby woke up. “Huh? Daddy?” Bobby poked Rob ever so gently, but he didn't wake up. Bobby got scared and jumped on him.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Bobby, ouch, don’t do that!”

“Ummm, Daddy?”

“Yes?”

Chapter 3 - What to Do about Lucky

“Oh, honey, I think she is just out for a walk. She will come back.”

Meanwhile, Lucky passed a rabbit. She chased it for ten minutes; then she gave up. She got really hungry.

Bobby woke up his mom and hung a fake spider on a tree, Sally woke up and screamed. “AHHHHHHHH!!!!”

“Okay, Bobby, that’s it. No more pranks for the week!”

“Mommy, Mommy, Lucky is gone. She is lost.”

“Well, all we need right now is the key to the house.”

“That’s what you need - Lucky is my best friend.”

“Bobby, go to your room. NOW!”

“Umm, my room is IN the house.”

“Well then, go in your sleeping bag!”

“NO!”

“Bobby Jankens, come back right now!”

“No, I'm going to find Lucky.” Lucky wanted to get back to Bobby, and Bobby wanted to get back to Lucky.

“Lucky, come here girl. Lucky come to me. Are you okay?” Bobby heard nothing. Then he heard an animal coming to him. He saw it clearly now.

“LUCKY, IT IS YOU!!!” They ran to each other, and Lucky licked him and he giggled.

“I'm so so so glad you’re back, Lucky. Let's go home.” They walked back together. Lucky, Sandy, Bobby’s mom, and Bobby’s dad ran and gave each other a big hug.

“Honey, thanks.”

“Okay, Mommy, but for what?”

“Lucky has the key on her collar. Now we can go back in.”

Chapter 4 - Home Sweet Home

“Oh, I'm so glad. This is the best day ever! I love Lucky. Now I can call my friends. I mean, let’s go to the movies!”

“NOOO!!”

“Okay, okay. You guys are the best family ever,” said Sandy.

“Well, I'm going to my room.”

“Okay, bye.”

“Wait, I just remembered that tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY!!!”

“Yes it is, Bobby.”

“Let's go to bed so we can get to my birthday sooner.”

“Oh Bobby, it doesn’t work like that.”

“Well, it is 9:00. Let's go to bed.”

During the night Bobby, could not sleep. The next morning he was just as excited as he was last night. He went to his parents’ room and woke them up. Then he went to his big sister’s room and woke her up with a snake from his prank box. Then he woke up Lucky and brought them all to the living room and yelled... “TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!”
So it was a good day, being Bobby’s birthday. Sidney, Sally and Rob got him a gift. Then he looked at the spot where Lucky was sitting and she was not there.

Chapter 5 - Bobby’s Birthday

Bobby got really sad. Lucky didn't come to his birthday. They sat down and Sally said, “She is probably tired.” Then Lucky came in the room with a big smile. Lucky was holding a large blue and black box with pink ribbon on it. Lucky dropped it at Bobby’s feet.

“Huh? What is this, Lucky?”

Sally said, “It’s a gift from Lucky.”

“Yay, awww. Thanks, Lucky.”

“What is it? Show us, please.”

“It is is... A HAMSTER!!! It's so cute. Thanks, Lucky, you’re the best! But we have to buy stuff for it with money.”

Rob said, “It's okay. It's cute. What will you name it honey?”

“I will name it Stinky!"

“Can it be my birthday now? I want a pet?" Sidney said.

Lucky was getting old. Everyone in the family knew that. He walked outside and they knew it was time for him to go. “BYE, LUCKY!!!” they all said. “Thanks for helping the family.”

Chapter 6 - The Bye and Hi

“Oh, by the way, Lucky, thanks for the gift. Bye Lucky, and hello Stinky. Hope you have a good time.

“Ruff.” Bobby knew he said, “Thanks to you, too.”

So the family cared for Stinky, and they wondered what Lucky was doing up in heaven or down still on earth. They were happy for Lucky and the new pet too. Sandy got to be with her friends, Sally got the new dress she wanted for ages, and Rob won $10,000 dollars in cash at his meeting at work. And all Bobby wanted was to... PULL PRANKS!!! So he did: fake snake for his mom, fake eggs in his dad’s shoes, and a fake monster to scare his sister. And that was the story of the family who had the weirdest/best week in the world and still had lots of fun. And had a happy ending.
