The Volcano and the Haunted Castle
Luke, Age 9, Calgary, AB

"What happened?" asked Tron.

"I don’t know," said Shawn.

"It is the volcano erupting," said Jack.

"Let's get out of here," said Tron.

"I think I see a castle in the distance far away; it will hold the lava away," said Shawn.

"The lava is catching up," said Jack.

"Do you see it?" said Jack and Shawn.

"Good, we got down. Let's go in the castle now," said Jack.

"OK, let's go inside now," said Tron.

"OK, I see a sign," said Jack.

"OK, let’s go too.”

“OK, why did the doors close?”

“I don’t know," said Tron.

"OK, I will read the sign. It says there is no escape ever," said Tron.

"That is probably not true because someone put that there.”

“We should stick together.”

“Yeah, that is a good idea," said Jack.

"OK, that was not the volcano," stuttered Jack.

"What was that then? I think this place is haunted. I think yeah, no joke, it is haunted,”

“I see a sign that this castle is not haunted."

"Well what should we do then?"

"Follow the music. OK, I see more signs, but are they in German?"

"OK then, let's run. If there were Germen words, somebody was in here before?"

"OK, the music is louder."

"OK, I think I see a person."

"Excuse me."

"Yes, um, hello. Do you know how to get out?"

"Oh yes, I do."

"Can you tell us?"

"Go over there and get that key."

"OK, got it."

"OK, now see over there where that wall is where there is a hole in it. OK, put the key in there and it will open it and it will open to an exit."

"OK, thank you."

"Oh, you're welcome."

"OK, guys, I don’t want to do that again!"

"Ever, OK!"

"Yeah, us too.
