City Lights
Sarah, Age 13, Phoenix, AZ
                      The city, still and soundless.
No screaming sirens, no squealing cars.

The cold, eerie moon; blinding white.
Beams flooding the streets, light enclosing the city
As shadows creep and dance in alleyways.

Yellow, dead city lights;
Stealing away the moon’s beauty, crowing building walls.

The stars, dim, as the city light snatch their colors away,
One by one.

The city, still and soundless.
