My Mother the Star
Ignacio, Age 12, USA
                      My mother is a star,
Who’s not so very far.
Though the sun blocks her during the day,
She doesn’t really go away.
When I feel the world’s pain and wrath,
Her glowing advice puts me on the right path.
When the sun goes down,
And you hear the night sound.
She shines throughout the night.
Her example shines sparkly white.
You won’t find her in the sky.
Look around and spy.
My mother the star.
