Elizabeth, Age 12, Champlin, MN
An eerie place of darkness and despair,
The foulest of creatures are lurking there.

A putrid stench whips in the lifeless breeze,
An odor that makes you cough and wheeze.

The marshy ground sputters as you wander,
You hope this journey doesn’t take much longer.

A strange howl echoes in the eerie fog,
The beast was close, in the very same bog.

The last thing you saw, red eyes in the night,
Another lost in the land without light.
