They’re off to
war, with their swords and guns, Mothers waving to their daughters and sons. The enemy stands across land and sea, Not yet knowing how deadly this will be. Inspectors went in and weapons they sought, Saddam shielded the truth and so we fought. The road to Baghdad is stormy and slow With sandstorms, snipers and landmines below. The press is embedded with troops so deep Eager to show us that freedom will keep. There're wounded on both sides with so much pain, So much to lose, but a lot more to gain. An end will be brought to this evil tale, America rose and goodness will prevail. |
