Come to the West! Cabot exclaimed Come see this Great expanse Where fish are near, the skies are clear, and the wild animals dance. They came to hunt the wild game and frolic in the snows. They built towns, made families, planted corn in neverending rows. But the country grew, as newborns do, and soon the People saw A new name, A new place, A new country That was Canada. As time went on, The farms long gone The country grew new cities. But its spirit remained Though it seemed tamed, A brave country wild and free! |
