Darkness Falls
 Natalie, Age 11, Vernon, BC

                                         Doom breaks;
                                Ground shakes;
                              The darkening life,
                                will then awake.
             
                                 In my bed;
                                Away from it all;
                               It always turns out,
                             that the good people fall.
             
                                Listening and crying;
                               those terrible screams;
                             it's enough to  make you,
                                go weak in the knees.
             
                                There's no one left;
                                they are all gone;
                                   our time is up,
                               there will be no dawn.
             
                                   So here I am;
                                   the one down below;
                                 come and get me,
                              I'm the last one to go.
