Is a novel worth
the time. It made me think, It made me sad, Because I know Zachary Beavers of my time. It makes me wonder. ‘What it’s like To live a life Where you are stared at All the time’. Toby and Cal Think their lives are so drab And so hopeless Without people They have learned to love. But they come to understand Their lives could be a lot worse. And so they helped The boy who came to town. By doing so They helped themselves. *This poem was written in response to reading When Zachary Beaver Came to Town by Kimberly Willis Holt |
