Missing You
Laly, Age 12, Plover, WI

Do you remember when you used to call me
And we talked
For a long time on our phones
Or when we took long strolls on the beach
It’s the same without you ever since
It happened too soon
We were always together
Sitting on the moon
Searching every star that represents us
But now it doesn’t even matter
Because my heart's broken
Into a thousand pieces
Nothing can put it together
“Do you think we should be like in a poem
There is a silver ship
And a gold ship
But there is no other ship
Like a friendship!”
I was scared I was going to lose you
And now I do.
