The World Around Me
Alison, Age 10, Madras, OR

The oceans have no sides
For they are but a circle
With high and low tides,
The lands that come upon us-
Its explorer has made no fuss
For they have found a new land
Thatís shaped like a hand,
The forests and jungles are
Just like a home
To the newcoming animals
That felt so alone,
The corals and reefs are
Getting smaller and smaller
But forests and trees
keep growing taller and taller.
