Christmas Party #1
Bret, Age 12, Merced, CA

December nineteenth was a cold an stormy night; it was the night of my first annual Christmas party at my house. The night of my first Christmas party and it just had to rain. Jackson, Gino, and I  are waiting, on the couch waiting anxiously for the first guest to arrive. Suddenly the doorbell rang we all jumped to answer the door but I got there first.

I had no need to worry it was one of my closest friends, Justin. We all gave a sigh of relief. I don’t know who or what we were expecting but we were scared. After that we were sitting there waiting for more people to come. We thought that they had forgotten that the Christmas party was that night. Suddenly a suburban pulled up.

We were all watching: fifteen kids jumped out and rushed to the door. It looked like a swarm of ants going towards a picnic. Justin and I remarkably beat them all to the door. They were all girls. A couple minutes later some more boys came. Justin exclaimed “Finally the all boys are here!”

Then my party started to begin. First we played 'pass the present' that was really fun. After that we made ornaments out of dog bones, pipe cleaners, and pom-poms. It was neat because all the different kind of figures everybody made. Then we all played twister that was the biggest pile of kids in history. Then we all settled down for a little movie action. We watched Pirates of the Caribbean. I love that movie.

And that’s all that happened at my Christmas party. I was so, so nervous all for nothing. It turned out to be a great time!
