The Magical Fairy Dust Snow Day
Jessica, Age 14, Chilliwack, BC

Quietly I wandered over to the window,
hidden under layers of fabric,
I wondered what I would find.
Reefing open the sheer curtains,
lifting the blind,
I am astonished to find
crystal glass covered in soft fluffy snow.
I rubbed my eyes, shocked,
I took a second, still not believing what I saw.
In a tired hand I gripped the cold handle,
pulled slowly.
Into my room bellowed the snow
like clouds of fairy dust.
Freezing,
my face began to fill with joy.
Suddenly I knew
what it all meant:
it was a magical snow day.
