Selfless
Karina, Age 12, Ontario, Canada

Your faith worries me,
your face always shows glee.
Why are you like this?
Tell me, so I may live in bliss.

I know there is something behind the mask,
like you are trying to fulfill a secret task.
Why can't you tell me, I am your friend.
My normal schedule can always bend.

Your acts are selfless,
and care so much for others' happiness.
Their burden is always weighing you down.
Yet there is hardly ever a frown.

My words are true,
my days are blue.
I see through you,
and I sometimes hope you may too.

For days I hope,
and many of those days I mope,
What's there for me?
If I never know if you are just as jolly.
