Like a Brother
Breanne, Age 13, Merced, CA

We would play outside
He would go and hide
I always was the seeker
Because he was a major peeker

We climbed a tree
I scraped my knee
I grabbed his hand
He kissed me

He loved me
And I loved him
we loved each other
Like sister and brother

He got a girlfriend
He and I were at an end
He kissed me one last time
Then said he was no longer mine

We talked no longer
I had a hunger
For the touch of him
I was on the edge
I was on the brim

He came to me one day
Just so he could say
"I am moving
Far far away"

Now he is gone
So I write this song
To let him know how much I care
For him and him alone
