Paralyzation
Christine, Age 16, Arlington, VA

As the sun illuminates the valley
Blessing the roses with golden blood
Spawning rivers from veins of mud
You transfix me with your gaze
Those amber eyes, an endless maze
A labyrinth I hope never to escape

As the maiden moon imbues the sky
Birthing stars into the night
Creating children, limpid and bright
I admire you from the hill
Captivated, standing still
Paralyzed by your beauty
