This is a book about fortifications through the ages. It is a really cool book, with tons of great pictures and lots of detail in the pictures. The pictures are drawings of actual fortresses, like The Great Wall of China and an Egyptian Fort.

The book starts in 1500 BC and goes to 1990 AD, just 15 years ago. There are many interesting facts next to the pictures, as well as the text. It tells how the enemy was kept out, how the fortresses worked, and the tricks they used.

It is suitable for ages 10 and up, and boys will probably enjoy it more than girls. I rate this book 5 star!
