When I first picked up The Blue Jean Book I had no idea what I was about to read. I am terrible for judging books by their covers, and this one was no exception to my unfair views. However, as soon as I cracked the cover I realized how very wrong my thoughts had been. The Story Behind the Seams is no dull tale at all. From the very first line I was hooked! I couldn’t wait to sit down and read more.

We don’t think about them as we pull them on every day, or off every night. What they’re doing for us while we wear them day in and day out, or even how long they’ll last. When jeans were new to the world though, they were thought of very differently.

The Blue Jean Book takes the reader on an epic journey from the very first pair of jeans ever made to the mass-produced ones we now see every day and almost every where. I really enjoyed The Story Behind the Seams, and would recommend it to anyone twelve or older. It was a really nice change from reading a novel – I loved some of the old advertisements that were included. I would definitely give this book five stars since it is one I would want to read again.
