‘Magic was back, big time.’

Have you ever wondered who Harry Blackstone was or what Doug Henning did? Now you can find out. Meet the masters of magic. Siegfried and Roy, Harry Houdini and Chung Ling Soo are just a few of the magicians who are mentioned in these pages. Stored in this book are not only famous magicians but also a couple of magic tricks for up and coming magicians.

Magic has always fascinated me and I now know how to do a few simple, yet mind boggling tricks. As soon as I had read the first paragraph, I was sure I would enjoy this book. Something about the different topic and how it was written had enthralled me. By the end, I was a little disappointed. I had thought it to be a book entirely full of how magicians had worked their magic and that I would learn all their tricks. This book wasn’t exactly what I expected, but I guess that no one knows all that information. I still delighted in reading this informative reference. To support the story, more pictures and illustrations could have been used. Prepare to be Amazed is suitable for children in grade four and up.

I rate Prepare to be Amazed three stars.
