Did you know that Canada touches three different major oceans? Or that Canadaís ice storms can crumple hydro towers? Or even that in a blizzard, the wind chill alone can make it more than 25 degrees Celsius above the standing temperature.

Snow and Ice was written by Nicole Mortillaro. Inside, there are countless facts about Canadian winter weather. I would recommend this book for a younger student who is doing a research assignment and needs mostly facts. The book Snow and Ice has 60 information-filled pages and is appropriate for ages 6-9.

I donít know if there are other non-fiction books written by Nicole Mortillaro, but if there are, I am sure that they would be at least as informative as Snow and Ice. I think that this book will give the reader more insight into winter weather conditions in Canada.

I give Snow and Ice a 4 star rating.
