Time to Wake Up
Holly, Age 12, Albuquerque, NM

It's Saturday morning.
I get out of bed
splash my face with cold water
and brush my teeth.
It's time to wake up.
I turn on the shower,
one step at a time I get in.
Soap, shampoo, face cleanser.
Then it's one turn of the handles
and the shower's over.
I take two towels one for my hair and one for me.
A dial of 7 numbers and my friends are on the line.
"You can make it. Lets meet in 30"
I walk to my closet and look at my cloths,
a cute shirt with a jean skirt and flip flops would work.
I get dressed.
Brushing my hair straight I reach for the curling iron.
While I'm waiting for it to heat up, I part my hair to, more to the left side.
The iron's done. I flip my hair out now it's time for the makeup.
Some blush and eye shadow with a touch of mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss.
I grab my purse and out the door I go to my friends car outside.
To my favorite stores.
To my favorite place.
It's time to go to the mall, my best friend.
