Thunderstorm
Amber, Age 13, Cullman, AL

The thunder claps,
The lightning shatters.
My ears adjust to the rain,
As my eyes close to sleep.

The heavy rain,
Brings a morbid feeling.
Yet, my dreams
Keep me going through sleep.

Rocks of hail hit my window,
As the pittering and pattering,
Lull me to sleep.
This is a storm,
Dangerous and comforting.

I hear the storm,
As it hits the roof and ground.
My night has been complete,
I can sleep now.
