The bus
went over a bump and I felt my eyes open. Wha’? Where was I? On a bus? How?
Jake Sherman and his friends, Andy and Josh, are going to Camp Walton, a
summer camp, for their first time. Jake sees the ‘cool’ kids and tries to be
like them, picking on other campers and playing pranks. Jake wakes up the
next day and finds out he’s trapped in the first day of summer camp. He
tries being nice to the kids he bullied but he's still stuck. He thinks hard
about what he’s done; trying to figure out what has gone wrong. Will Jake
ever be free from the first day of summer camp? Or will he be trapped
forever?
This awesome book is a fast-paced novel filled with excitement but doesn’t
give detailed descriptions of the camp and ends on the second day, not the
last. A sequel to continue the rest of the month would make more sense. I
would recommend it to kids of all ages who like a short, funny novel.
I give Help! I’m Trapped in the First Day of Summer Camp four out of
five stars.
