Dan Greenburg. Treachery
and Betrayal at Jolly Days |

The
Shluffmuffin twins are back, but sadly Dagmar and Hedy are too. Wally and
Cheyenne have just escaped from the clutches of their Onts and are looking
for a new home. They must get out of the Dripping Fangs forest and go back
to Jolly Days Orphanage. Even though the Onts will be right behind them
every step of the way. When they get back to Jolly Days it is even more
unpleasant then it was before. They realize they can’t stay. Where can Wally
and Cheyenne turn to now? The battle between The Onts and Treachery and Betrayal at Jolly Days is over and Book 2 came out on top. I think Dan Greenburg has outdone himself this time. These books are somewhat of a drag (for you Lemony Snicket fans), but for every tragedy there are two laughs. This story was very weird, but because it was so weird it made it more interesting. C’mon, where else can you find two giant ants, a zombie, an orphan with stinky feet, and another who sneezes all the time? This is an amazing book that I would recommend to anyone 8-12 years old. To put the icing on the cake, the book had a funny, yet surprising twist at the end. I can give Treachery and Betrayal at Jolly Days 5 stars because it appeals to every crowd; it’s fantasy and sci-fi that a Grade 3 kid could read it but a Grade 5 kid will want to! RATING: |
