Among the Enemy was written by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Some of her other books include The House On The Gulf, Escape From Memory, Takeoffs And Landings, Turnabout, and Running Out Of Time, as well as the entire Shadow Children series. So far in her career, she has won the International Reading Association Children’s Book Award, ALA Best Books for Young Adults, Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers citations, as well as more than a dozen State Readers’ Choice awards. I think that she is an exciting author who knows just how much sorrow and excitement to put into this kind of book.

I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys serious type books.  I would definitely recommend reading the first five books in the series (Among the Hidden, Among the Impostors, Among the Betrayed, Among the Barons, and Among the Brave) before reading this one. I enjoyed reading this book because it really flowed and it wasn’t too complicated.

I give Among the Enemy 5 stars.
