Before the Traveling Pants we didnít know how to be together when we were apart. We didnít realize that we are bigger and stronger and longer than the time we spend together. We learned that the first summer.

And all year long, we waited and wondered what the second summer would bringÖ

Well itís here, and things are looking a little bit different than last time. The only one with travel plans is Tibby, off to Williamston College to take a filmmaking course. Bee, looking forward to a summer of downtime with Carmen and Lena, is jolted from reality by a series of hidden letters, and takes off for Alabama spitefully. Itís only June, and the drama has already started, so pull on your pants and prepare for a story.

Ann Brashares is the author of The Second Summer of the Sisterhood and the rest of the Traveling Pants series. She lives in New York City with her husband and three kids.

Brashares pulls it off again in The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, meshing the lives of her four outstanding heroines and their four grand adventures. Thrown in also are their supporters, pasts, and aspirations, the unifying threads of the Pants, and the ever-present love and friendship between the foursome. The final result: an explosively intriguing dramatic-romantic-comedy, and a novel you will read again and again.

The five stars of this show are Tibby, Lena, Bee, Carmen, and Ann. Bravo!
