Dylan is sixteen years old and she is at the peak of her social years. She has the most gorgeous, popular, boyfriend in school and you’d think she’d be the happiest girl alive. Wrong. The problem is that her emotions are floating in miscellaneous limbo. She doesn’t know whom she likes or whom she doesn’t. She is introduced to a novel called Foxfire and is later assigned a school project to do with it; she has no idea how much her opinion on the novel will affect her boyfriend, her best friend…and most importantly herself.

This novel has an inspiring indifference. The author is very good at communicating the main characters’ thoughts and emotions. I found the main plot absolutely dazzling; the setting is very much like a teenager’s life. The characters are constantly pressured by their drug and alcohol related surroundings. I thought that it was an intense, well-written novel.

I would recommend this book for people ages fourteen and up. I should warn readers that it is an ‘acquired taste’. This book has some harsh physical and verbal pieces, in order to get the point of the story across. There is also a same gender relationship involved.

I give Hello, Groin five stars because it was such a captivating story.
