Carolyn Meyer. Loving Will Shakespeare |

Anne Hathaway is having the worst
time of her life. At only sixteen years old, she loses her mother, and is
terribly surprised when her new stepmother comes soon after. Anne dreams of
living in a small cottage with a child and husband to love her, and yet
everything seems to be turning for the worst to prevent that from happening. This book has a bit of a boring beginning because there were too many years that went by faster than would have been expected for a time-line, but gradually I got used to that fact and I found myself very attached to the main character. Anne Hathaway was easy enough to relate to and Will Shakespeare has that loveable, bubbly wit about him. The story line was so well written that I wish it could have happened in reality. Unfortunately not many records were kept of William Shakespeare’s real life. I would recommend this book for people ages thirteen and up. It is a read that one can look forward to, if they are looking to escape the real world for a while. I give this novel four of five stars, because of the way I had to adjust to the writing style.
