My Winter |

Soft snow falling
on the window pane My laugh echoing throughout the house Sweet smells of cookies and fudge Wafting from the kitchen Boots waiting patiently by the door Skis and their owner thudding through the house Me still giggling like crazy Bundled up from head to toe Skis strapped tightly on We set off into the dark As the clock chimes six Down along the river The reminder summer will return The bridge of green gleaming Through its coats of ice Down a little sledding hill On cross country skis This all seemed so magical to me |
