Looking
back, it probably wasn't the best idea in the world to take off on Smokey,
but I just couldn't stand the thought of selling him to some other kid. A
pony like Smokey doesn't come along every day, so I was forced to drastic
measures. And if selling our house means we get to keep Smokey then I can
live with that. Still, I have to confess I'm worried. Because where we're
going isn't a house. It's an apartment. This story was mainly about how a 13-year-old boy, Nathaniel (Nat), and his family have to move so that they can keep their horse, Smokey. However, soon after the move, Nat's Mother catches pneumonia. She ends up in the hospital. A man from the Children's Aid organization starts telling the three children that if their mother dies they won't have much to say about the direction of their life, because they don't have any relatives. Little does he know that they DO have a father, and if Nat must, he’ll find the man that left them. I would recommend this book to anyone between the ages of 10 and 14, and would say this was definitely one of the best books I have read. This reviewer gives All the Way Home 5 stars. RATING: |
