Pierre is love stricken by the beautiful ballerina Catherine. His only wish is to be with her forever. This turns out to be a very big problem though, because poor Pierre is nothing but a poor fisherman. Why would a beauty, such as Catherine, love someone like him? The illustrations in this book are very well done; they are sort of chunky or blockish, but with enough detail to entertain a child’s eye. The storyline is better for children nine years old and up. This story's plot is written like a novel would be, although it is shortened to 40 pages for the benefit of a picture book. The love story is very creative, and cute. Maybe that is only because I am a hopeless romantic, but it is a very amusing story, pictures and all. This book deserves five out of five stars. It is well written and well illustrated picture book that the entire family can enjoy. RATING: |
