Sleep Deprived
Susane, Age 13, Kent, WA

There I laid and stared and wondered,
I counted twice the ceiling tiles,
Sleep, I tried but yet I blundered,
My thoughts had wandered countless miles.

Outside my window nature thundered,
And there I lay,
Wide awake and sleep deprived.

Then the craziest, strangest thing happened,
A voice called out to me,
“Time to go to school!”
