Hop inside this hauntingly catchy picture book and prepare to sing along at the top of your lungs! With bright and simple illustrations and a clever twist on the 12 Days of Christmas, this book is sure to please all the pint-sized ghosts and goblins looking for a good read. If children are having this book read to them, it also makes a great math activity; they can be encouraged to seek and count all the spooky characters that show up (ten werewolves howling).

13 Ghosts of Halloween is a great story, as the words are simple and uncluttered. A cute classroom book!  Or a book that young trick-or-treaters can gobble up themselves. This book is almost as great as a bag full of candy but twice as colourful!

The illustrator, Patricia Storms should be highly praised for her work of conveying emotion, action and cuteness into every page. Don't forget to look for the interestingly shaped clocks, too.  But I hope the real scaredy-cats out there fail to notice as each child gets picked off one by one...

This reviewer gives the 13 Ghosts of Halloween four and one-half howling stars.
