Another Month of War
Genesis, Age 14, West Point, NY

One month ends, another begins.
the month that everyone loves, yet hates.
Leaves start to change colors,
Trees get bare,
People wait for something great to happen.
Teens and kids buy useless things,
As if nothing is more important
than iPods or school plays.

A rainy month,
where even a crack of light,
in a gloomy gray sky,
is wonderful.
More soldiers are assigned to go to war,
less soldiers come back.
Nothing is at peace,
No matter how beautiful the scenery,
Peace between America and Iraq
might never come.
Another month of war.
