You Left
Angela, Age 11, Scarborough, ON

The old days seem like a mirage.
Days, years, centuries have passed since I saw you.
Laughed with you,
Worked with you,
Played with you,
You left me on this desolate island,
In the midst of dried waters,
Left me in hunger, poverty,
While you went on,
And enjoyed luxuries.
Never paid me a thought.
You left me without a goodbye,
Never even cared,
So why should I?
You were once my dear friend,
You are now my dear enemy.
