The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down
In green pastures;
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil
For thou art with me,
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.
Thou annointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The book The Lord is My Shepherd is more of an art book than one you read. The Italian artist Regolo Ricci has created a masterpiece combining richly imagined art with a passage from the Bible that has brought comfort to millions of people around the world. It is very old-fashioned but not in a prude or boring way, more in a way that reminds you of rich feasts and long nights next to a roaring fire in a log cabin. The peaceful paintings meander through barnyards in the summer to snowy winters with the wildlife. Even if you aren't religious the book is still worth taking a look at, just to marvel at the beautiful artwork. And if you are religious this is most definitely a wonderful book to add to your collection, for children and adults alike.

I give The Lord is My Shepherd four stars.
