Spring Is a Time
Cynthia, Age 8, Toronto, ON

Spring is a time,
When morning bells chime.
Spring is a time,
Sweet birds eat lime.
Spring is a time,
Children play mime.

Spring is a place,
Where the crow makes a face.
Spring is a place,
When dolphins dine in bays.
Spring is a place,
When time passes by as sunny days.

Spring is a new carpet of flowers,
Just born.
Spring is dead leaves disappearing,
To help new ones.
Spring is new saplings sprouting
With a breath of life.

Spring is here,
To make summer.
Spring is here,
To make new things.
Spring is here,
To start new lives.

Spring is how
New blossoms bloom.
Spring is how
We leave our past.
Spring is how
Chickadees fly.

Spring is why
A spring of action explodes.
