At the graves of
men who died Poppies grow along the side. They grow in straight rows of ten Planted there by the women: Sisters, daughters and the wives Of the men who lost their lives. Lots of men survived the war But those who died were many more. Those who fought and died for us Gave their lives without a fuss, Fought for freedom, peace and joy. We must work hard not to destroy All the things that we did gain From those soldiers and their pain We wear poppies to symbolize All the men who lost their lives. |
