The Rabbit and the Turtle, also known as The Tortoise and the Hare, has been heard by hundreds of little kids everywhere. The point of the story is clearly outlined in slow and steady wins the race. This book has brought these fables to life.

Aesopís Fables have held charm and moral meaning for centuries. While credited to the storyteller and slave Aesop of ancient Greece, the term now covers most stories with a moral behind them. Eric Carle has captured the spirit and meaning of each of these classic tales. Told in his unique way, with illustrations that catch the eye, this book is a masterpiece. Little kids are thrilled by the brilliant tissue-paper collage style art.

In this book eleven fables are retold. Ranging from the classic The Rabbit and the Turtle to the less heard Fox and the Crane, each storyís moral is outlined at the bottom of the page. I read it to my younger sister at bedtime and she loved it. It was easy for her to read and understand. Many thanks on a great book.

The Rabbit and the Turtle deserves four stars.
