Here a Face, There a Face is a cute meandering throughout the world of all the hidden faces around us. A surprised-looking pot wears a beret, a rock has eyes and a mouth and the handles of a bag sticking out of a garbage can give it a silly expression. Arlene Alda has created a visual treat for all involved. The words are in large print the photos are bright and colourful. Most faces are easy to spot but a select few may take more of a stretch of the imagination. I really liked how unlike most picture books, the author used photos instead of illustrations. It made for a nice change, and I liked the realistic nature. Now every time I go for a walk, or even sit at my kitchen table I will probably always be on the lookout for little faces: in flowers, in rugs, in wood, in paintings, and even in…bread?! Four stars for Here a Face, There a Face. RATING:
