"I hope everything’s all right,” said Philippa. “I don’t think I could take another disaster right now.”

“We’d better go home,” said Nimrod. “Besides, there’s nothing we can do here.”

In the fourth book of The Children of the Lamp series, John and Philippa must rescue their mother and replace her with Faustina. Also they must stop Iblis from completing his dastardly plan. Along the way they meet both important and interesting people.

After reading the third Children of the Lamp book I couldn’t wait to read The Day of the Djinn Warriors, because the third was exciting and had left me wanting further adventures with these characters. I expected the fourth book to be as exciting and as engaging as the previous book, and I was right. This book continued the adventures from the third and it didn’t leave a gap of missing information.  I liked the length of this book because I enjoy chapter books that I can savour. It seemed like the plot was well thought out because P.B. Kerr used cliffhangers really well. The ending was great because I was not expecting it to end the way it did, but the villains got what they deserved.

P.B. Kerr is a good children’s author as well as a good series writer because they are well written and enjoyable to read. P.B. Kerr is the author of the Berlin Noir series. The Children of the Lamp series is good for ages 10 to 13 because I think they will enjoy the story due to the main characters being a similar age.

I give The Day of the Djinn Warriors 4 stars out of 5.
