Marble
Cynthia, Age 9, Toronto, ON

Marble, marble
You have more lustre than the sun.
Shiny and bright,
With you Iíve never had a fright.
Truer than starlight,
What a sight!

An intellectual river rock,
More worth to me than a heavy lock.
Talking in the rockish way,
I wish for just your say.
Never without me,
So much in the world to see.

Marble, marble
You have more lustre than the sun.
Second thoughts,
After you, everything rots.
Fairy wings carry me high,
A rock worth more than the sky.

Emerald jewel,
Sugared fool.
A full blue moon,
Comes too soon.
But superbly bright,
Is a star studded night.

Marble, marble,
More pretty than my pun.
Fiery red,
Shooting blue,
Like my name,
Creamy moon, all the same.
